Have your kids take the Fit Kids 5 Challenge!

Wide World of Sports, Disney World

On my television show, Kiana's Flex Appeal, I created a segment called Kids to Seniors and showed viewers that all ages could do a variety of exercises to strengthen their bodies. We filmed the shows at the Walt Disney World and the Wide World of Sports in Florida. I led them through squats, arm curls and stretches.  We had local kids, seniors and even the Cirque du Soliel cast came by to workout!

Can kids lift weights?

I receive many emails from people asking if their kids can lift weights.   The answer is yes.  As long as it's supervised by an adult.  Children can do body weight exercises or even use very light, kid friendly weights. Their main focus should be to practice proper form and have fun!  My goal for my daughters is to help them create healthy habits and learn proper form.

Studies show that kids need 60 minutes of exercise per day, part of which should be muscle strengthening activities.
